    Lithology and Thickness
      Tadrart Sandstone Fm  LITHOLOGY= USGS Chart places this formation at the base of the Lower Devonian, in the Siegenian stage. Massive continental to marginaly-marine, cross-bedded sandstones with plant fossils found throughout the lower unit and trace fossils in the top unit. Depositional envronment ranges from subtidal to intertidal and continental.  CALIBRATION = Base of Lochkovlan.
